Vegas basically said they want to build from a good defense. Wild are one of the few teams likely to have to leave a solid top 4 guy unprotected, since most teams with defense anywhere close to as good as Wild's have either a UFA or a young guy auto-protected. Would definitely be interesting to see what it would cost Wild to not lose a defenseman.

I'm not a believer that Stepan is any better than Koivu at this point.
